9th July 2011 DOUVILLE CHRISTIAN | Very pleasant stay | 9.4/10 |
7th July 2011 Jac Heuvelmans | The room is very good, enough space, clean and convenient. How ever there are no facilities for buying food and drink, there is free tea and coffee, and the staff is helpful enough to order sandwiches or food from the nearby restaurants. | 7/10 |
4th July 2011 Abo Badr | i like this hotel | 9.4/10 |
2nd July 2011 Jon Allen | We actually stayed at Hopeland Executive Residence for a total of 4 nights, returning to stay on July 1st, the night before the flight out from Bangkok.
The hotel itself was pleasant and clean. The entryway and front desk of the hotel is impressive with high ceilings and brass elevators. The staff take great care in the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel.
The breakfast was great, with fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, yogurt etc. As coffee drinkers we were disappointed that all coffee in Thailand seems to be made from Nestle, and tastes like instant coffee would have killed for a good cup of joe.
The first room that we were given for the first 3 nights was smallish and faced another building, probably 8 or 10 away. For this reason we had to keep the shades drawn the entire time and the air conditioning on. The floor was a cold white tile and there were absolutely no other decorations around the room what so ever giving the room a cold sterile feeling. The bed was adequate, however the hotel doesn t provide a sheet, only a top comforter, which is unfavorable as we all know hotels don t wash their comforters. The room key must be placed into it s holder by the door to turn on any electric or air, so be sure to ask for two keys as you ll need one for the power. Also, keep in mind if there s more than one of you traveling, you ll need your room card to activate the elevator, so again be sure and get two cards.
The hotel itself is located on a very busy street, and rather sketchy areas around the hotel. Travelers can walk 6 blocks down to the BKS skytrain station and use the train to get around town. This seemed to work fairly well, but it s a bit of a hike to get to the station.
Now for our experience:
The hotel reservation desk sold us our first class tickets on the overnight sleeper train to Sarat, including all other fairs (busses and fairy) as we were planning to catch the ferry to Koh Sumai for the next leg of our journey. When the evening of departure came, one of the bell boys hailed a cab and provided the driver instructions on where we were going. To reconfirm, I asked the bell boy again if the driver understood where to take us, and the bell boy told me that the driver knows where to take us. For a cab ride that should have taken no longer than 35 minutes tops, we found to our dismay that after an hour of driving the driver had taken us to the Bangkok airport instead. We missed our train, forfeited our tickets, and other arrangements and had to return to the hotel for yet another night in Bangkok!
The manager of the hotel never contacted us, instead the bell boy was instructed to reimburse us for our tickets and connections. As a result, we lost a whole day of our vacation, as well as one night of our cottage on the island. We arose at 5am the following morning, hailed a cab ourselves and made it to the train station in the nick of time. However, instead of the first class overnight train experience, we sat upright in couch seats for 9 hours, with minimal food and water. We had to secure last minute taxi and ferry tickets (which cost us more money) and finally arrived at our cottage on the island at 9pm that evening which was closed. We had to forfeit that nights cottage room and rent a room for the evening next door......all because of one Hope Land Hotel workers mistake! Again, not once did the Hopeland manager contact us with any assistance or apologies.
Beware of time frames here. It will take you 3 times as long to anywhere in this area of Bangkok. Allow 1.5 hours to the airport! | 5.4/10 |
27th April 2011 mr g j youdan | hotel gets 10/10 for cleaniness and is very spacious but lets its self down on its breakfast everything was cold or luke warm and seemed like they never turn on the hot plates and there is no table or chairs around the pool and only four sunbeds for the whole hotel ,why ? you could really do with a map for the hotel to find the gym and the sauna there are no signs any where to help and the staff if you can find them do not speak good english.skytrain only 5 min walk no resturants outside only food barrows, the experiance i had was this seemed like a hotel that has just opened and was run by inexperiance people nobody makes any effert to greet you upon your arrival and the porters just look at you through the glass door while you struggle with your suitcase this could be a lovely hotel if it was better organised having saying all that i would stay here again as it was value for the money the rooms were very clean and maid service exelent. | 6.8/10 |

11th August 2010 Renoleau Pascal | Nice surprise when arriving hotel. Room very clean and hotel s service is very efficient.
A bit inconvenience about the hotel s location as most of taxi s drivers are not quite sure about Sukhumvit 46/1; I suggest the hotel to make more clear on the map.
By the way we enjoy very much. Very nice people. | 7.2/10 |
