28th April 2012 Yvonne Tibboel | It s always nice to be in the Grand China Princess Hotel.
The view over Bangkok is pretty, the room big and clean.
But this time, we had problems with our mobile phones and iPad, While the mother of my friend was serious ill, no telephone connection at all.
Probable they jammer the phones. For Hotel service an 1! | 7.4/10 |
27th February 2012 lydia dawn smith | enjoyed our stay at the grand china princess hotel friendly staff very clean and a good view from the hotel room thanks | 10/10 |
24th February 2012 Derek Laing | My second stay at this Hotel in 5 years. A very pleasant stay and my room was upgraded which was lovely. Great views from the pool of the city. If you want somewhere to go outside, then why not take a 100bht tuk tuk to the riverside which is not far.
The Lavender spa is really good . You can eat in the revolving reastaurant at the top floor. Ive done that so i went to the restaurant on floor 10 which was good value. | 9.4/10 |
24th February 2012 Derek Laing | Ive stayed here once before. I was delighted to be upgraded to an upper floor. Staff were really helpful. Nice views from Poolside. Not far from Riverside. Breakfast was good, and i used the restaurant for evening meal. | 9.4/10 |
2nd February 2012 Craig de Ruiter | Good area enjoyed the fantastic breakfast choice rooms ok staff good would stay again | 7.8/10 |
16th November 2011 EVGUENIA STAROSTINA | средненький тель.
Проблаема с наличие воздуха в номере. Мы жили на 22 этаже естественно окна не открываются, кондиционер шумный и слабоват. | 7/10 |
22nd February 2011 CARPENTIER FRANCIS | hotel très bien siué dans le quartier chinois; chambre confortable, petite piscine agréable, énorme buffet petit déjeuner (thai, chinois, continental...)personnel disponible. | 8/10 |
1st January 2011 Patrick Caunt | We were very pleasantly suprised by the Grand China Princess. It was excellent value for money, clean, well equipped rooms and in a good central location. We loved the hustle and bustle of Chinatown and the fabulous views from the rooms and from the roof garden. Breakfasts were excellent, especially the pancakes and waffles and the staff were all charming. Will definitely stay there again next time we go to Bangkok. | 9.4/10 |
26th December 2010 LIM WEE TEE | Room was clean & breakfast good | 9.2/10 |
19th August 2010 Douglas Andrew Owen | Very pleasant stay and will be staying here on next visit to Bangkok | 9.6/10 |
21st March 2010 Mr.John J Nicholson | Very good value for money. Big room with great views and excellent service. Location was not as good as hoped for as a long way from Railway Station and MRT. Suggest using River ferry (about 400 meters) for access to other parts of Bangkok. Also beware very few Restaurants in China Town (mostly street stalls) but Hotel has many places to eat. Close to good markets. Not sure if would stay again due to location | 8.2/10 |
4th December 2009 Mrs Jane Baker | This hotel is in China Town so you re right in the middle of it all as soon as you walk out the door. It s only a 5 min walk to the river ferry but it isn t so convenient to the sky train and metro.
The hotel itself is big and a bit out dated but clean and friendly. The pool on the 23rd floor goes right to the edge with only a small fence to stop you falling off. We were too nervous to take our 4 year old son there for too long so we didn t get to make the most of it.
The revolving restaurant was pretty good on level 25. It too was dated but the service was excellent and the Japanese food lovely, the Thai menu was limited. They also offered to make a hamburger for my son that was not on the menu. The chairs are comfy so he easily fell asleep meaning that my husband and I could stay on a bit longer.
The only negative was that they asked us to wait before we checked out so they could check our room before we left. I guess I understand that it would be easier for them and it only took a couple of minutes but it didn’t feel very nice. | 7.2/10 |
18th November 2009 Suzanne Bonham | We pisked this hotel becuase of the location near all of the major attractions, however in hind-sight I would not book this hotel again. The location was handy for getting to the river or to the Grand Palace, however you still had to get taxis to these locations. If you enjoy going out to restaurants for meals or like to go out for a few drinks on a night then China Town is not for you - there are very few formal restaurants, the area is mainly made up of street vendors, and there are no bars - only the one in our hotel. The bedrooms could do with updating - the wallpaper in our room was peeling off. The bed was extremely hard and after sleeping in it for 3 days I felt like I was bruised all over my body. The pool and sunbathing area was nice, however much smaller than it appeared on the hotels website - there are only 8 sunbeds. The breakfast buffet was good - there was a good selection and there was a fresh egg station where you could get eggs done any way you like and waffles. If I was offering advice to a friend who was going to Bangkok I would say do not stay in ChinaTown, I would recomend that they stay in one of the more modern hotels in the Sukhumvit Road area, as there is lots of bars and restaurants and shoppping in these areas and they are well served by the skytrain - to get to the river and then you can get boats to the Grand Palace etc, also taxis are so cheap you can get those to the major siteseeing attarctions. | 5.4/10 |
24th April 2009 Charles Snedeker | good hotel
good service | |
1st April 2009 Karapetyants | Good location, magnificent view from the room. However hotel looks a little bit worn out; bathroom facilities are very primitive. Not reliable Internet service in the room (for extra charge).
And the worst - terrible and amasingly unfriendly service.
Overall - would not recommend. For this money can find better one in Bangkok.
25th February 2009 Severine Teruel & Aidan McCarthy | The hotel was great and the staff were very helpful, they gave us a free upgrade. The location in chinatown is ideal and buzzing. we also used they travel tours and book flights and the staff was very helpful. The only BUT we would have was the swimming pool which is very small (photos are decieving), its the size of a large bath really. We didnt have much time to spend at the pool so it didnt affect us but if thats one of the reason you are booking this hotel you may want to check elsewhere. Food was really good and the panoramic restaurant a lovely treat. Security staff and porters were very helpful.
20th December 2008 bedreddin seckin | overall this hotel is good and price is reasonable. When I compare to the hotel in my next stop Beijing (3 star hotel); next one was better than this 4 for star hotel. location is not good due to heavy traffic. If I go to Bangkok again I would not prefer to stay at the same hotel instead of no problem occurred. Hotel s SPA facilities was excellent, you do not need to go dirty and unreliable places to get a healthy massage.
14th December 2008 Fredriksson Stig | If you like to explore Chinatown, this hotel is the one for you. Located in the heart of Chinatown. Else I recommend you to choose another hotel because traffic can sometimes make hard to get in and out of Chinatown. Use tuk-tuk. The room feels old, and not so fresh, but for me a good place to sleep.
19th November 2008 Olga Lakskyenn | Thank you, the hotel was good! Very good staf and location.
