24th February 2012 jan.meijer | no restaurant. | 7.6/10 |
7th April 2011 BENCHARAT HEBERT | The Downtown Inn should be renamed Downunder Den.
This is not the worst hotel I have ever stayed in but it is the top 5 running for worst. We fought mosquitoes all night the first night.
The bathroom is so small that you must move the shower curtain to get to the toilet.
The breakfast buffet, we have previously enjoyed, was no longer available.
This morning I woke up with a terrible back ache from a too soft bed.
We will definitely not be returning to this hotel and will submit our review to websites. | 4/10 |
7th February 2011 Ed Mil | Good as usual | 10/10 |
25th December 2010 Kempenaers Johan | Very nice hotel.Close to the nightmarket.Very friendly and helpful staff.Buffet breakfast with delicious food every day.Close to the travelagencies.I will stay in this hotel again. | 9.6/10 |
27th November 2010 wanida | The service (reception / food at room service was very good. The staffs were helpful. BF was OK but look not so clean. The room looked a bit small and old. The pool was too small for swimming. It is very close to night barzar. Recommend if you do not want to stay too far from the night market. Value for your money. | 7/10 |
19th November 2010 IAN BROWN | The good bit: its a great location and 1,000 baht.
But, lets for a minute look at the pictures in the dining room; Jim Morrison, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and the Beatles. Now, do you think this could be some kind of retro-chic ? or is it just a sign that the hotel hasn t been updated since the 80 s ?
Well why not pay your 1,000 baht and find out ? but be prepared for that strange smell in the room to permeate your clothes - the smell of 20 years worth of unchanged carpet and mattress that you can take away as a souvenir.
And can i pass on my thanks to the cleaning staff who in the staff room next to my room (305) would help me wake up at 7 am everyday by banging on the wall. Fantastic job.
Oh - and the breakfast is good. | 6/10 |
8th November 2010 Morten Skibsted | Good location close to night market and a lot of good thai restaurants; in same time a quiet place. Breakfast was not interesting, nearly no thai food! The staff was friendly and helpful. | 6.6/10 |
9th March 2010 Toni Catherine McQueen Armstrong | great hotel for a cheap price. good location to night bazar, far enough away to be quiet. all the staff were freindly and helpful. Looking out from the hotel visit the touris agent just accross and on the left of the hotel. She was very helpful and friendly. | 7.6/10 |
17th December 2009 Brounen | Check in was oke. Friendly staff.\r\nBreakfast was very good.\r\nMinuspoints: Many bedbugs in the room. When we let the airconditioning running during the night, the stayed away. \r\nBreakfast staff was cleaning the table before breakfast time was over and they sat down to eat them selves.\r\nNo good advertising.\r\nWe do not recommend the hotel to other people. | 5.6/10 |
21st April 2009 Stefan Blume | Very central location; no neeed for transportation to satisfy daily needs and most of our shopping. Pool s not so big but enough to make the children happy. This was the 3rd time here. | 6.6/10 |
18th April 2009 Reijer van Leeuwen | Nice hotel, great value for your money.
14th April 2009 Ena Hamzic | Down Town Inn was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip in Thailand. The staff was always friendly, the hotel was clean and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend everyone to stay at this hotel. It s location was also one of the best things with the hotel. Remember DOWN TOWN INN when you re in Chiang Mai.
13th April 2009 Pierre Hermansson | Location is OK if you are intersted to visit the Night Bazar.I´m satisfied with the room and the rest of the hotel, maybe I will stay there again next time I´m in Chiang Mai
3rd March 2009 De Back | cosey hotel,centraly located.Good price/quality.
Will be certanly back ! | |
17th February 2009 Margareta Johanna Knapp | A ok hotel. Nice staff and a good location. The room was ok, a lot of ants though, but otherwise clean. It s a good place to stay if you re interested in checking out the nightmarket, it s only a few steps away. The poolarea was so-so.
17th February 2009 Mara Joy Lambert | Great location, really couldn t get much better! Hotel is average, fine as it has everything needed and quite clean, no extras though. Staff speak very little English and it appears that most rooms are smoking.
Do not book hotel transfers as they cost more than an airport taxi and are in a shuttle bus that only runs every hour. Would stay again.
25th January 2009 David Leong | Room was of good size, clean and comfortable. Free daily supply of bottled walk. Moderate spread at complimentary breakfast. Within minutes walking to the markets and the Ping River (at right of Inn). You may also like to walk to the Old City from here -- about 30 minutes slow walk.
25th January 2009 David Leong | Oh yes, I want to add very friendly staff.
11th November 2008 Matthew McLean | Great place. Really close to down town (hence name) very friendy staff, very clean. If every in Chiang Mai I would tell people to stay here
17th October 2008 Miss L Fowler | Nice clean hotel, good room size and air con. Stayed in a room for three, plenty of space and beds comfortable.
Breakfast was a buffet and as long as you don t mind similar things each morning it sets you up well for the day. Good location, right on the night market. Friendly staff who helped organise some really fantastic tours- elephant camp was fantastic and well wort the money
