Hua Hin Bay

Welcome to Hua Hin, The King's Beach Resort

Hua Hin is only 280 kilometers from Bangkok, on the East coast, facing the Gulf of siam. It is the oldest beach resort of Thailand, as it was developed in the 1920s, when it was trendy to go to beach resorts to spend the hot days of summer. Hua Hin then became the favorite beach of the Royal family of Thailand and of all the high society of Bangkok, as well as rich westerners visiting the Kingdom of Siam.

After a significative slow down of the popularity following the second world war, Hua Hin quickly regain the heart of vacationers and is now one of the favorite holiday destination for Bangkok people and western tourists traveling with family and it hosts not less than a tens of 5 star hotels, as well as the summer palace of the Royal family of Thailand !

Cha-Am BeachThere are many beach resorts spreading around Hua Hin, from North to South, to finally make a unique stretch of beach of more than 200 kilometers, from Chao Samran beach in the North down to Bang Saphan, in the South. You will then have the opportunity to stay in the area for several weeks, while moving to a new beach every week, and slowly go down to the discovery of the South...

As an espacially popular place of the high society of Bangkok, it is not rare to see luxuous cars, Mercedes, BMW or Jaguar, in the streets of Hua Hin or Cha-Am during week-ends. Moreover, as many high class people come to the surroundings of Hua Hin, it has the luck to host 9 international class golf courses, all easy to reach and with all modern facilities you can expect in a stunning tropical setting. It is, indeed, a very well known place for golfers all over the world now...

Of course, staying on the seaside, you will also have the chance to make boat trips around Hua Hin and explore the splendid underwaters and the neighbour islands, like Koh Thalu among others.

Hua hin is a favorite among travellers and you will share their feeling when you will have been there.

Hua Hin - Cha Am area and its over than 200 kilometers of beaches.

Cha Am beach - Hua hinThe area of Hua Hin has so many beaches, with its more than 200 kilometers of coastline, that we can't name them all here, we will only speak of the most renowned, from North down to the South.

Hat Chao Samran means "Royal leisure beach" and is the closest beach to Petchaburi (and also the first to host the summer palace of the Royal family, before the completion of the palace in Hua Hin). This is a 4 km long white sand beach with Hotels (including a 5 star one) and restaurant lining it. Close to town, it tends to be crowded with local people, especially on week-ends.

Chao Samran beach - Hua hinPuktien beach, 4 km long beach, South of Chao Samran beach, is known for its sculptures of characters of the "Phra Aphaimani" thai litterature, appearing from the sea or perched on the rocks.

Cha Am Beach is a very popular 4 kilometers long white sand beach, with all modern facilities you can expect for your holidays, a splendid beach, water activities and sports and only few night bars for the night owls.

Hua Hin beach - Hua hin
Hua Hin beach is the most famous beach of the area, where the Royal family still has its summer palace, and is a favorite among high society of Bangkok. It is also a 4 km long beach, with all modern facilities and many 5 star hotels. It is also very popular among tourists coming with family, as it is close to Bangkok, offers many water activities and sports, but is much more quieter and family-friendly than Pattaya, even if you will still find some night bars here....

Continuing to the South, you will meet many more beaches, all with modern facilities, hotels and restaurants, like Khao Tao beach, Paknampran beach, Pranburi Beach, Phu Noi beach, all stunning beaches, with high grade hotels, and it is the same all along the coast down to Bang Sapan beach, 100 km South of Hua Hin.

So you will have the opportunity to go southward at your rythm, changing of beach as of your mood...

Khao Takiab is the most famous attraction around Hua Hin. This a 272 m high rock, on the beach, south of Hua Hin. The main attraction is the 12 m high statue of a standing Buddha, located at the basis of the rock and facing the sea. It can be seen from several kilometers away. You can also go up to the top of the rock, where you will find a temple with many statues. The view is breath-taking and will make splendid pictures.

Klai Kangwon Palace - Hua HinHua hin Railway station is also a popular place for tourists, not only because it is a point of arrival for travellers coming to Hua Hin, but mostly because of the Royal waiting room, separate building, straight on the platform, which makes a picturesque photo.

You will also find many Palaces around Hua Hin, the Klai Kangwon Palace on the beach side in Hua Hin, is still used today as summer palace by the Royal family. The palace is from Spanish-style architecture and surrounded by a somptuous garden. Do not miss the shell museum. The Maruekatayawan palace is a "must do" excursion in Hua Hin, this splendid palace, built on the beach, South of Hua Hin, is the longest Teak built palace of the world. Enjoy the many activities in Hua Hin

Black Mountain Golf Club - Hua HinIf Hua Hin is far from Pattaya and its about fifteen courses, it still offers nine international class golf courses (18 holes minimum) and more projects are coming. Indeed, the quality of golf courses in Hua hin remained a well kept secret by chinese and japanese golfers, but their ever growing notoriety attracts now many western connoisseurs. The Royal Hua Hin Golf Course is right in the center of town, behind the railway station. It offers stunning views over the Gulf of Siam. The Springfield Royal Country Club is a guenine championship course, it is one of the best maintained courses in Thailand, with all modern facilities and a country clubhouse. Most of the other courses are of high quality too and less than 25 mn away from Hua Hin, like the Palm Hills Golf resort 15 mn away, which did host the Thailand World Pro Am Tournament in 1993, the Hua Hin Soul Country Club, former Bangkok Golf Milford resort, offering a splendid seaview or the Black Mountain Golf Club which did host the Asian PGA Masters in March 2009.

Horseriding on the beach - Hua HinAnother very popular activity in Hua Hin is the Horseback riding on the beach, long and wide, Cha-Am and Hua Hin are perfectly suitable for a horse ride on the beach and even children will have the opprortunity to enjoy it as they will be coached by the guide.

Scuba diving and snorkelling also are very popular activities and the underwaters are splendid. Many agencies and diving schools offer, for example, excursions to Koh Thalu, small picturesque island with fishes and corals.

Koh Thalu - Hua HinYou can also go on fishing trips, leaving the beach at sunset, agencies offer to take you fishing on a boat around Koh Singtho and then prepare what you caught on a barbecue on the beach.
