14th September 2011 Gregory Emmer | Rooms were as described. Customer Service was great. Location was perfect in relation to Haad Rin Beach. Please note that beach front concrete rooms do not have two twin beds as options | 8/10 |
30th December 2010 DAVID FINNIGAN | This was a typical english run resort!
The Thai s treated us better. Our booking was double booked which they never told us until after the balance was paid- when we specifically requested a double not 2 singles they simply said sometimes it is two singles pushed together- but if they didnt have it when we booked then they shouldnt have sold it to us! so we were shuffled around with suitcases. We were a couple on holiday not backpackers! The room didn t even have a fridge or a kettle? Little did we know unless it say so they weren t automatically provided. Tracy at the desk proceeded to try and sell us all the trips as soon as we got there and at the end charged us for the simplest of things. A glass was broken by accident we got charged for it?!!! Getting us a taxi for 400 bart but not telling us a 2min walk up the drive and we could flag one for 200! Overall not a good experience and made us despise the way the english are so money orientated! Will not recommend! | 4.8/10 |
26th December 2010 Vicky Shipway | Had a great stay at PBR over Christmas - hate it when reviews say this, but the people really are lovely (they know when to leave you alone and when to help). Our beach bungalow was gorgeous and right on the beach (PBR s slice of beach is by far the best). Only criticism is that there s not much nearby so you will need a motorbike. | 6.6/10 |
26th October 2010 Christine Mallow | A place i would book again. Bungalow in front of the beach, like a dream with very clean room and good bathroom. Thats what i expected from thailand! | 9/10 |
27th August 2010 danielli | cadre est magnifique
chambre rustique et confortable, toutefois un peu bruyant puisque nous étions dans l allée face au bar
donc c est une place a éviter pour pouvoir se reposer | 6/10 |
29th June 2010 Ihl Koh | The english lady (w/ brown hair) was really nice and friendly. The other lady (blond) on the contrary, was so unfriendly and cold, we felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome. The food is not very tasty and the location sucks. There is absolutely nothing to do there, and the beach is really ugly (how is that possible in thailand?!). The bungalows are ok. but it gets claustrophobic after 2 or 3 days. After all, it was a poor experience. One should go there, only if you can t find other accomodation during fullmoon. (Cause the prices aren t that cheap either.) That would be the only reason to stay here. | 3/10 |
26th May 2010 Andrea Bettina Schellenberg | Very quite location with nice bungalow terraces and friendly staff. But the bungalows inside are very small with no storage and the open air bathroom is inadmissible. I think this resort is only for backpackers for a few nights, not for beach holidays. The beach is beautiful but there was no water, always ebb, no chance for swimming. | 4.2/10 |
6th October 2009 Vick | Enjoyed the place alot, felt completely safe with my things, and I was travelling on my own, so it s a great place with the right atmosphere to just chill and meet up other cool ppl travelling around and make some friends as well. The restaurant food was great, it has that home cooked vibe. The guy running the place, Andy, is english speaking, which was a major plus and was really cool to chat with and has good advice for travelling around, the parties, other activities, etc in koh phangan and thailand..stuff u don t get on reviews! ..but watch out for the crazy blonde lady who runs the place as well, she speaks english, so she says! j/k , but she together with the rest of the staff, Yun, Yah, and I can t spell the names of the others, they set the vibe of the place! Good Fun!!! | 7.4/10 |
31st August 2009 D`Angelo Maurizio | The resort is located in a quiet, beautiful place, 1 minute far from the main street. The only problem is that there isn t wardrobe into the bungalow. It is realy as the pictures on website.
If we come back, we will book here again. | 7/10 |
19th July 2009 K & N | While the pituresque beach and pretty wooden villas at first seem like paradise, don t let your first impressions of Phangan Beach Resort (quotations intended) fool you. As well as being grossly overpriced (as most of the resorts on Phangan are), the service at this place was absolutely terrible. There was no feeling of welcome or hospitality, the room, while clean and wooden, was small and claustrophobic. The bathroom is outside, and ours, during a Thailand thunderstorm, completely flooded. You can t swim in the beach at all, because it is only a metre deep until it breaks, far further out than I or my three companions felt safe going out. In the end, we left early even though we were forced to pay full rate for the nights we had booked. We left for Haad Juan, an isolated part of the island, where we stayed at Big Blue bungalows for a fifth of the price and where we received far better welcome and service. | 4.2/10 |
28th February 2009 Reiser Clemens | nice, quiet place. restaurant not the best but ok.
it´s a good location when you drive a bike, very close to thong sala and partyplaces.
3rd January 2009 Gemma Byrnes | Staff at hotel were brillant and all could speak english. They made helpfull suggestions about local attractions and events. Resturant was of a high standard and produced reasonable food at a reasonable price. Room was tidy but basic and slightly tired. Aircon a must. Location was overall a 5/5 postioned right on a cute private beach with nicer complements such as pinic tables, swing seats and hammocks. Resort had a good atmosphere and we would recommend for a brief stay.
7th November 2008 fiona kaur | The resort was clean, basic and reasonable. The rooms were a bit small for 3 girls but it was manageable. No swimming pool though but it has clean sandy beach to make up for it.The local staff there were very helpful with the information about the island. Overall pleasant stay with them.
18th May 2008 Kyle Glover | This was the highlight of our month in terms of accommodation, Location and Staff. We would highly recommend this resort! You are a bit away from the party which is great and scooters are cheap so you can rent one for the whole time! Great atmosphere at the resort and is fun to hangout and drink and socialize with guests and staff!
17th March 2008 Heiko Fischer | I had a beach front romm and it was not as good as i expected, there had been animals in the bathroom every night and it was very small too. The stuff is friendly and helpful. I won´t go there e second time with a child at full moon time, because there is loud musik every night till two a clock. Finally the beach isn´t as good as in the west like long beach or mae hat. I think for young people without children it is good to stay there.
13th February 2008 ratchaya | The place very nice, beauty and asmosphere. The rooms are cute located nearly the beach, inside room appropriate to rest, clean and quiet. Their staff so friendly and good assist me about detail of trip on Phangan.
Only thing to blame this place, it s noise from his gardener who worked around the cottage.
PS. first day I arrived not found some bugs but next day I found some mosquito into the room.
20th January 2008 Shimon & Michal Dahan | don t spoil your vacation!!!
We stayed there 3 nights it was nightmare!!! the bongalow is made from wood no insulation so the room is geting very very hot at 10am you have to go out from the room .
the toilet is in the open Air (outside) !!!
In our toilet was 2 frogs and 3 lizards !!!
The room is very small and suffocating since all the windows have to be close becase of all the bugs outside .
it s far from the main activitis (hadrin beach) so taxi will rip your mony 200 baht to go out and another 200 baht to return total 400 baht. the room costs 800 baht per night so you do the math.
In conculation this resort Will defently will spoil your vaction !!!!
1st December 2007 Kristy Robinson | Absolutely what we were after!!! A gorgeous bungalow, right on the beach, footsteps away from the water and peace and quiet! The bungalow itself is beautiful, the staff are very nice and the food is great! The beach is private therefore no one bugs you to buy their things. Short taxi trip into the town which is no problems at all! Would definately recommend and go back if I was to return to the Island, which hopefully I do!
