3rd January 2012 Madhur Ramani | Fantastic hotel, fantastic location. We had lot of apprehensions about the hotel before going there, but the rooms and the view from the hotel overlooking the ocean turned out to be unbelievable. | 8.6/10 |
12th November 2011 craig bencich | golden hill was a fantastic resort.
the restaurant served us delicious food daily, the staff are super friendly and welcoming.
the views and sunsets are amazing!
the rooms are clean, aircon runs great.
they provide taxi service to full moon parties and into town for a good price.
swimming pool was great, clean.
highly recommended | 10/10 |
14th September 2011 Tracy Azevedo | beautiful location, awesome staff. will stay again if we ever make it back. | 9.4/10 |
5th May 2011 Andrew McNab | -No restaurant available even though it was advertised
-Poor/incompetent staff
-Many facilities of the resort were not available as we were the only people there
-No hot water
-Botched booking for transport to Koh Phi Phi. | 4.6/10 |
20th February 2011 kai luenstaeden | I enjoyed my stay there, the room was clean and for 1000 baht reasonable. The food is great, you have to try the American Breakfast with all the fruits! The only thing is that the boss seems kind of stressed sometimes, one time he was arguing very loud with a customer (nearly screeming), as far as I know it was just an missunderstanding, but the boss was becoming unfriendly very fast...Not the land of smile any more. Anyway, I am sure you will have a very nice stay there, the swimmingpool, the great sight...The beach is a 10 minutes walk and kind of hard to find, but its beautiful. | 8.6/10 |
29th April 2010 John McElborough | We had a great stay at Golden hill. Lovely bungalow for the price in a really peaceful, scenic setting.
The restaurant at the resort does good thai/ western food, reasonably priced. Service is a little slow (and meals seem to be cooked one at a time!). Good wifi access in the restaurant/ bungalow. Pool area nice and well kept and all the staff were super friendly and attentive.
The locations ok, depends what you re after. We stayed for the full moon party which is about 20-30 mins away in a cab (150baht p/p). Being away from the crowds not really a problem, i d definitely recommend it. The port and town is only 5 mins in a cab if you need shops/ restaurants etc.
All in all one of the nicest places we ve stayed in thailand and a real bargain. | 7.4/10 |
4th March 2010 Patrick Cundall | Golden hill resort was really really impressive and wished we could stayed there longer... it was so nice to come back to hotel after full moon. quiet, efficient staff, lockers, really clean rooms, super cheap, swimming pool. Outstanding. | 10/10 |
2nd February 2010 ga ihn | AMAZING view of the sea, GREAT food served in the cafe. The only slight disadvantage was the distance from the full moon party beach | 7.8/10 |
1st February 2010 Brian F Campbell | Other then some geckos in the room, it was very clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was decent, and the view was incredible. Located not too far from Thong Sala. All in all, worth the price. | 7.8/10 |
24th December 2009 Melissa | Great Resort! The rooms are very clean and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The view is amazing and there was a relaxed atmosphere when we were there in December. Will definitely stay there next time we visit Thailand. | 10/10 |
3rd December 2009 Franklin Ellis Howe | Had a great stay !!
Thank you !!
Frank Howe | 9.4/10 |
6th September 2009 Terry Leigh | My fiancee and I had a fantastic time at the Golden Hill Resort. We are travelling Asia and have stayed in some real holes in the past month. Arriving at Golden Hill we were greeted with warm smiles and 2 bottles of water (a nice touch when youve been travelling for 16hours!). The rooms are spacious with the Sky movie channels you sometimes get, the food was nice but most of all the people were so friendly and accomodating. For the price this place was incredible. We highly recommend it. | 8.4/10 |
8th August 2009 Damien Rafferty | Stayed here for 5 days... primarily as a base for full moon. Location is a bit remote but has amazing coastline views (after you climb the very steep hill) about 20 mins in taxi to had-rin beach. Food in restauarant was lovely and staff were very friendly. Great place to chill by the pool for a few days and if you want to be outside the madness of had-rin. Good value too! | 7.4/10 |
8th August 2009 Shaun Lordan | Good size rooms, try to get a bungalow if u can, well worth the extra. staff are very very friendly and the food is suberb, however when the hotel is very busy it can take a while to get food (an hour usually at peak times) but this is fine, its a small place, so just order a little bit before u actually want to eat, problem solved. me and my mate stayed here during the full moon period, when we first got there was worried that it would be dead, but it soon picked up and was bustling the day before. great pool with amazing views of the sea, a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, but I recommend jumping in a songathaew and popping to haad yao beach for dinner and sunset at least one night, was beautiful. one last note, make the taxi drive u to the top of the hill, its a bitch getting up there at the best of times, not to say after a few buckets. All in all would definitely come back and stay. Recommended | 7/10 |
8th June 2009 Rhian Hunter | Quiet hotel as it was low season, but nice place with ok pool, food etc. About 5 mins from Thongsala town, but have to go in taxi. Haad rin is better town as its busier.
12th March 2009 Nicola Jane Gray | Fantastic place. Located within walking distance to beautiful secluded beach; clean & comfortable bungalows, friendly people and delicious food. Would love to return on my next trip to thailand.
3rd January 2009 Rob | Great vibe, good location and friendly staff. Its about a 10-15 minute drive/motorbike to get to Haad Rin but believe me you will want to get away from that place after a few nights of partying.
The beach isn t too far, but you will need to hire a motorbike from the hotel (200 baht per day) to see some interesting places EG - eagle beach
16th August 2008 Mr. Luca Casotto | Nice hotel, perfect location with fantastic view, even if I suggest to rent a motor-bike or car to go around the island!!! The staff is very nice and professional. Hotel clean, spacious rooms with many conforts comparing to the standard. I higly suggest this resort...
20th February 2008 Raymond Milne | Hotel nice enough but staff are very unhelpful and demanded full payment for 4 nights despite us checking out one day early. They then openly admitted that they would rent the same room once more to ensure they get paid twice for the same room. Restaurant very slow, over one hour wait for a simple meal of noddles and chicken.
