Como Resort is situated on the tranquil beach of Big Buddha Bay in Koh Samui. It offers a magnificent view on the neigh boring island Koh Phangan and several smaller islands, which you can easily discover by boat. If you always dreamed about living like Leonardo di Caprio in the movie "the Beach", Como Resort is absolutely the place where you have to stay. We have only 11 bungalows, so we can easily guarantee you a personalized service.

At daytime, you can just relax on the white sand of our 50 meters private beach while enjoying a drink, or perform one of the many beach activities we provide, like swimming in the sea or pool, badminton, volleyball, petanque etc. The waters around Koh Samui are world famous for their underwater life, and you can easily book snorkeling or dive trips at the resort.

ACCOMMODATION

All our bungalows are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, mini bar and refrigerator.  The superior and family bungalows also have TV. Most of our bungalows are located directly by the beach, surrounded by coconut trees.

Unlike many other resorts, you do not have to walk 40 meters to reach the sea when you have hired a beach front bungalow. Some of our other bungalows have sea view and are located in a superb tropical garden with banana, papaya and guava apple trees.

SERVICES & FACILITIES

We also have special attention for families with kids. We have bungalows with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. For small kids, we can provide a baby cot for free. If you like to go out without your kids, we can provide you a baby sit. Of course, we also have a lot of toys, so your kids can enjoy themselves building sandcastles on the beach.

In the evening you can enjoy dinner in our Beachfront restaurant. We serve the best of the Royal Thai Cuisine, and also a wide range of European dishes. Famous are our weekly barbecues on the beach. Every evening, we show the best productions of Hollywood on TV. However if you would like to go out in the evening, it is absolutely no problem. It's only ten minutes from Como Resort to Chaweng Beach with its exciting night life, restaurants and many shops where you can buy a real false Versace shirt for only 150 Baht.

I had a pleasant stay at Como Resort. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The resort is located on the beach which has a quiet serene energy. A nice quite oasis away from the hectic loud energy encountered at some places. This resort is also very set up for families with small children- a pool and lots of toys. Love the hammocks and beach lounge chairs. I like the small cabins with your own deck to sit on. I defineily recommend for a restful get away. wendy

Staying at the Como Resort was a wonderful experience. This low key gem is run by a family who were lovely and accomodating and they made sure we had a wonderful time. We will be going there again, the next time we are in Thailand.

A great place to stay, the staff are lovely, friendly and very helpful. Food is also very nice, especially the bbq which they will do for you on the beach. We had our 5 year old son with us and he enjoyed it, especially with the sea being so close and a small swimming pool on site (which to be honest is a better place to swim as the sea is very shallow and has a slimy kind of mud under the water rather than sand! The staff will also make a great fuss of your kids, they often brought our son a banana pancake in the morning (free) as he did not eat the Thai food too much. Theres also motorbikes to be rented quite cheaply and they will organise any trips for you. Only down-side is that Samui is expensive and to be honest theres little to do other than sun bathing. Tips, do not bother with the zoo a real rip off, took us 15 minutes to see everything and cost 750 Baht each! Most enjoyable trips were to the markets and some lovely Temples and Pagodas.

Located in a very quiet part of Ban Rak, which was perfect for us. Rooms very clean and cleaned daily with really good air con! Bungalows right on the beach, with good food.

It s hard to really recommend this hotel. The rooms are small and not very private, and the location is not great. Still, it is right on the beach, and was comfortable enough for one night. However, the Smile House down in Fisherman s Village is nicer, closer to restaurants, and cheaper.

Room was just what we wanted, right on the beach, although the bed was much too hard, I m not fussy but it was like a plank of wood! Very low doorway into the bathroom and cracked my head there a few times too - but overall I d definitely go back for the perfect location - free kayak to use in the day was great as it was too shallow to swim immediately out from the beach during August unless you waited until the evening.

Our recent stay at Como Resort (our Honeymoon in March 2008) :just wanted to make sure that other people find this place as well. We just can t say enough good things about the staff, restaurant and the all around service. During our stay we just had to sit back and relax, everything was taken care of; from the morning meal until we went to bed we had such an excellent service. Thank you again all of you at Como Resort for making us feel so special.

If you are going to Koh Samui just to relax and kick back, this is a perfect place to do that. If you are there for the party, try another hotel and another beach as well. We liked Como very much, it was perfect for us.

A nice resort with character at the quiet end of Big Buddha beach which is fine enough as a base, good for families (so be prepared for a few kids if you don t have any!)we had a lovely clean and comfortable beach front room, but there was some construction happening to one side and those bungalows may be affected to some extent for a bit, tho we weren t bothered by it at all, so dont let that put you off. Good swimming, decent facilities and Daeng and her team are very friendly and helpful. And wow, what a G&T they serve! The village at Big Buddha is nothing special, but a short taxi ride takes you in to Bo Phut which is well worth a visit, with great restauarants etc. Very conveniently located for the airport (you can see the planes coming into land but hardly hear them), ferries and even Chaweng if you want to bother with that over developed tourist trap. We would definitely stay again as Como makes a pleasant and smooth transition in and out of the islands experience!

Great little peacefull resort. Wonderfull for people seeking peace and quiet or for families with small kids. Clean, very kind staff, cute little pool, nice food in the restaurant, very basic and good. We had a great stay there.

Very friendly, relaxing, family orientated accoummodation. Gardens leading on to beach front. Bunglows were extermely clean with good bathroom facilities. Short walk to shops, restaurants and Fishermans village (Bophut). Beach very seasonal.

Was booked for 7 nights but checked out after 2. The price on this place is a ripoff and al about peace and quiet are wrong. The main road seams to go through the bungalows, the beach are dirty with full of dead fisch. Noo restaurants around. Bungalows are smelling bad and the shower is in the toilet. Much nicer places around for the same price!

Early November is the rainy season so I had the place to myself. It was really nice and within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and the Big Buddha.

We stayed two nights with 2 small kids at Como Resort, which is a basic accomodation with a very friendly and helpful staff. Although the rooms were not very fancy, I can recommend the place for people, who are looking for reasonably prized accomodation. The biggest minus was the swimming pool, which seemed to be so dirty, that we did not want to use it.

Excellent, quiet and peaceful. Staff very helpful. The lady took me to the post office on her moto so I didnt have to get a taxi! Food decent. Location wasn t great, as to get to Chaweng, you had to take a taxi and the prices varied quite a lot. We did however, do a tour of the island that the owners set up for us. 1200 THB got us about 5 hours driving around the island. Was a lovely way to see it. Pool is small but does the trick, as the sea is a bit shallow. Nice sunsets. We can recommend this place.

Fabulous peaceful resort, near enough to everything to be accessible but far enough away to be totally relaxing. Owners and staff extemely helpful. We did not want to leave.

Ideal stop over to soak in the view! Quiet and reserved, its basic accomodation but clean. Food is great and hosts very helpful. Near vacinity is quiet away from most amieneties. Would recommend as a base for people who would like to hire a jeep and explore as well as have a beach and little pool to come back to!

In fact our plan was just to stay for three nights at Como Resort but we stayed for ten! We hadn’t even warned our host that our arrival would be at 7.30a.m. but even that didn’t phase her. She simply set about making us welcome and looking after our every need. Our experiences at this small scale resort were really enough to write a book on. Location .. Excellent, our chalet was just two paces from the beach. The nearby airport created no noise problem what so ever (I had wondered about this when we booked). Within easy walking distance to the two piers for boat trips to surrounding Islands or mainland. Room Facilities..The room ‘fridge was really appreciated and the AC system and fan was very efficient. We had no wish for a TV but understand that most chalets had them. Rooms were thoroughly cleaned each day and bedding replaced every other day. The extensive menu was well presented and good, it was really a struggle to justify eating elsewhere! . The three staff... absolutely delightful, hardworking, full of good humour and fun and they take a good picture! Service...Nothing was too much trouble. Taxis were passing regularly but Dang would book one within minutes if required. Likewise she was able to book hire vehicles that arrived within a few minutes. On deciding to fly back to Bangkok before returning to the UK, Dang even booked flight ticket for us to collect from the airport and sorted out excellent accommodation for us at the Baiyoke Suite Hotel for our last night in Thailand The beach.. Swimming in the first 15mts is no problem, beyond this footwear would be advisable due to rough coral surfaces. A two seater canoe was available, it was good for reaching the huge sandbar about 75 meters from the shore. Being at the opposite end of the bay to the Big Buddha there are very few people passing by on the beach. We certainly recommend this resort. Especially if you want a quiet location with a traditional feel, within reach of busy resorts if you want to visit them. For us this was all we wanted for a very hot two weeks in April. Other times of the year might be different. We had some doubts about sea water quality on all of the island’s beaches but we hope to return!!!
