Ashley Horn | The family at Chaweng Tara and other staff are amazing. Everyone is very sweet and helpful. Excellent breakfast served in the morning. Our room was huge and very clean. Location is good, near a pretty, quiet beach with a few restaurants, but don t expect to be able to walk to the main Chaweng Tara beach/town. Though it s a quick ride to town in a public taxi which are easy to flag down from the road. | 9.4/10 |

SOBRECASES | The location of the hotel was quite a deception. Aside what i would call an highway, far from Chaweng activities (3 kms). A small family hotel (people were nice i admit). A beach close (just the highway to cross)...Good quality of food. | 4.4/10 |

UNDERWOOD PAUL | Family style run hotel with friendly and very helpful staff. Just across the road from the quiet Chaweng Noi beach with plenty of restaurants.
I booked for low season and so had a choice of rooms. The one chosen at the back faced the forest and was quiet as away from the road. English breakfast was good There are a selection of meals available throughout the day, but limited during low season. The friendliness of staff show as when I went to eat alone, I was invited to a birthday party for one of staff. Thanks to Andre for this and his advise on how to get the best from the island. Will definitely stay here next time I visit the island | 10/10 |

Zhangyuanyuan | When you arrive Samui airport, you take the minibus which is 120b each person and it takes 20 minutes to get to the small cozy family hotel: Chaweng Tara. We had a very great time there even though for only one night. The service is very hospitable and we feel home with the owner and his son, his wife. They are very nice people and quiet and polite. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The hotel is only three minutes walk to the beach. And they provide free internet. Most importantly it is not as crowded as other hotels. The other morning we have to catch the very early pick-up minibus that Lompragay offered but the mother wakes up earlier than us to cook for us which we really feel thankful to! Next time we will definitely stay there! | 10/10 |

Maria Roberta Miguel dos Santos | This small family-run hotel is very well located, just 3-5 min walk from the best beach in Koh Samui (Chaweng Noi). It s a no-frills, simple hotel (without a pool), but with big and clean rooms, a very friendly staff, free wi-fi/desktop computers with internet and great value for money. The food at the hotel is also cheap and good, being a great alternative for the more expensive beach restaurants. I definitely recommend this hotel and will return to it in my future visits to Koh Samui. | 8/10 |

Katie Dale Ann Munt | The hotel was great. Very simple but with the most enormous rooms I ve ever seen! We staying in 6 different places throughout Thailand and Chaweng Tara had by far the most spacious accomodations. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke very good english. The location is excellent as it is away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng (which takes about 10 mins to get to in a tuk tuk for 150THB) and the beautiful beach of Chaweng Noi is literally across the road. You can access the beach through the Impiana resort across the road (who will let you use their pool and their sunloungers if you buy a drink)or through any one of the seafood restaurants next to the resort. The seafood restaurants offer amazing food at much more affordable prices than at Chaweng beach, especially if you re after seafood. Another thing which I would recommend is to get a lunch of Papaya salad from the little old lady that walks up and down the beach every day @ Chaweng Noi. She makes it for you on the spot and it is only 50THB with sticky rice! Best papaya salad I had in Thailand and it packs a punch! Very spicy.. Overall I would recommend Chaweng Tara due to its value for money, great service and location. We would come back and stay here again... | 9.42857142857/10 |

Jenkins | We had a lovely room at the back (the front could be noisy as it is on road). nice room, great value, free internet, king size bed. What made it special though was the family who looked after us as if we were one of them. They even cooked us Thai breakfast every day and helped us with anything we needed. Great value if you dont mind crossing the road and strolling for 2 mins to the beach... recommended. | |

Alexandra Chapman | Nice hotel with spacious rooms and very helpful friendly staff. A good option if you re looking for something cheaper than the resort hotels. Just across the road from the beach with lovely restaurants. The road is quite noisy so get a room at the back if possible. 5 or 10 minutes outside Chaweng main town, with a taxi rank right next to the hotel. | |

Therese Vu | The nice hotel staff at Chaweng Tara were extremely helpful and cooperative. They consistently went above and beyond what was required, which really made our holiday in Koh Samui. The rooms were clean and aircon was good. The hotel also had free internet. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all. | |

J | Family-owned and operated. Extremely friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Nice rooms and very nice bathrooms. Only downside was that you had to cross the highway to get to Chaweng Noi (the beach). But it s a small downside in the end. I would definitely stay here again. | |

Tracy Murray | Really loved this small family run hotel, met some really amazing friends in the staff here. Our room was just a normal standard room but when we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised. The room was huge as was the bed and the finishing touches in the room and bathroom were perfect. Although it is not on the main Chaweng beach, it is only a short taxi ride away, about 10 minutes and won t cost more than 100 THB per person each way. Also, right across the road from this hotel, a 5 minute walk,is Chaweng Noi beach which is alot quieter than the main Chaweng beach but has lots of lovely beach restaurants and a lovely beach. The staff go out of there way to help you book day trips, ferry trips to other islands etc and even have a hotel taxi which costs the same price as a normal taxi on the street. Would definitely stay here again when we next visit Samui, very good value for money and a lovely hotel! | |

Niky B. & Pam | We get so much more from this place than what we paid. Room is well decorating and big. Our room was well equipped and CLEAN. It is quite cheap from their price comparing with the room we got. Staff were really helpful & supper friendly. Guest here can use free WIFI in hotel common room. We was lucky that we came in quiet period they upgraded our room to the room with WIFI (I think they only have few rooms with WIFI) Great!!!. Only 3 minutes walk to a stunning beach and nice restaurant called Beach Love (+ cool music). We rent a motorbike and ride to chaweng main night life /shopping area, it took around 5-10 mins. We booked one night to see how we go, we ending up 5 nights here. We love Samui and we will definitely come back to this hotel. We have to share this wonderful experience with our family back home and you guys. Enjoy Samui!!!!!! well Recommended hotel!!!! | |

We booked one night here to see how we go, we ending up 5 nights stay. We love Samui and we will definitely come back to this hotel. Anette Einarsson | We were so satisfied with this place so our one night stay ended up being a six night stay. The standard is high, fluffy nice covers, very clean, more like European standard. The staff were so friendly and helpfull in all possible ways we were really touched by their kindness. The location is good, just to cross the road then we are at a wonderful beach strip of the south part of Chaweng. Here it was nicer then up on the main Chaweng Beach, much calmer. Perfect for children. | |
