28th February 2011 Julian LEFEVRE | We have stayed at the Sugar Hut three times over the past decade or so. Our latest stay was very pleasant. We enjoyed the tropical gardens, plants, birdlife and early evening swims in the pools. It is a relaxed environment, away from the sometimes overpowering hustle and bustle of the Pattaya and Jomtien area. Recommended for those who like a quieter location in traditional Thai style wooden bungalows. | 8/10 |
4th February 2011 Agnes Henderson wilkie | It is a beautiful place with lovely gardens. Shame it is so short of staff. The rooms were very pretty and clean but the pool area was not so good. No shade, no-one at the poolside, if you needed towels or service you had to phone from the bar. The prices were high and the quality of food not too great. They could do so much better if they had more staff. But I still enjoyed the peace and quiet of the resort. | 7.6/10 |
16th January 2011 SOFIYA BORODINA | My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 2 days of 14-16 January. And it is regretted that we booked a place on such short period. Hotel is very nice. Detached bungalow, lots of greenery on the territory, peacocks, parrots, squirrels! Near the bungalow there is beautiful pool, it working late into the night. There is a massage - massage therapists come into the room. A good restaurant meal can also be ordered with delivery room. At night, the bed covered with a canopy of mosquitoes, though, fortunately, the mosquitoes have not bothered.
Drawback: the hotel is quite far from the city center and from the sea, but you easily get to Walking street, even on foot. And also on foot, we reached the high-rise hotel Pattaya City.
But closer to go to the park Nong Nooch, the oceanarium, the hill to the Big Buddha and Rayong (if you are thinking on the island of Ko Samet).
If you rent a Motobike, then the distances will be no problems at all.
The next time we will choose your hotel for the duration of your stay in Pattaya. | 5.4/10 |
14th December 2010 Persson | The lovliest garden ever. A perfect place if you look for a place to feel private. | 8.8/10 |
3rd October 2010 Joachim Weronik | I had not that good experience this time. I changed room for double and they charged me lot of money for that. I payed totally every day about 1000 Baht more than I would have to pay if I would change for double at www.reservation-hotel-thailande.com.
They fixed the main pool and it was very noisy all days.
The restaurant lost a lot of the quality they had years ago.
There is no stuff and you have to wait long time (up to 40 minutes!) before somebody will come for service. | 5.2/10 |
13th September 2009 Raphael Thallinger | Disappointed! Great location with a beautiful resort in the Jungle... BUT very poor service. Lack of staffs who all seem bored. Low season means very low service. Room service below average, no drinking water in room and excessive prices for all services. They even refused to book me a Taxi back to Bangkok, trying to sell me their Limousine service at THB 3,300 per trip!!! What a scam... This beautiful resort does not deserve such a poor service level. | 5.4/10 |
22nd March 2009 James Gerhard | We had a great visit to the Sugar Hut. I would definitely return. It is very traditional Thai and very well done. The area is spacious and the rooms are like staying in an old fashioned Thai house in the country. Our bed was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are a value added part and the layout of the rooms gives you plenty of area to enjoy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Always there when you needed something but not noticeable if you did not. The three pools are all splendid and servce for towels and food was great. The restaurant was good. Breakfast was buffet style and delicious. It is a great deal for families or couples. A much better area than Pattaya. At Sugar Hut you can go right to the main road and hop on a Song Tai for the 3 min ride to Jomtien beach. It is only 10 baht a person (about 30 us cents. Jomtien beach is much nicer and with more family style food and shopping than Pattaya. We will visit Sugar Hut again.
27th February 2009 Leonie | It was really a wonderfull hotel. The place was even more beautiful than we had hoped. The location was also perfect. Close to the city. The people were very friendly only there englisch was not always very good. We really had the feeling that we lived in a jungle and both off my 2 children of 2 and 5 had a great time overhere. If you go there with children, please know that the bedrooms are not next to eachother and you cannot hear the children if there is something wrong. Both bedrooms are separated. TO get from 1 to another bedroom you have to get out of your own bedroom and go outside and than you can go to the other one. But we had a really great time overhere.
18th April 2008 Mr D Bolton | Excellent location and price
31st March 2007 Nigel Tatham | Very good, did not like being asked to pay a deposit on arrival especially as i had prepaid for 3 nights accomodation.
Liked the restaurant very much.
Liked the space and quiet.
Did not like Pattaya and will not go back, in fact had we stayed in most of the hotels we would have left as soon as possible but stayed an extra night because of the space and quiet
