20th August 2010 Ian Clarke | I first used this hotel about ten years ago when it was the Dusit Princess and the best hotel in Ranong. As it has morphed into the Tinidee it is beginning to fail. On check in I found I was overcharged for my room, Thia walk in guests were charged 1350 Baht, on booking I was told no such rooms were available. Room was tatty, for instance one window lock missing. Restaurant, expensive, poor food, staff surly. Sadly it seems this is still the best hotel in Ranong -- a minor provincial capital a long way from anywhere. | 4/10 |
18th April 2010 Paveenasuda Sriphaya | Good one comparing to others with standard facilities. Stafss are very helpful and quick response to all request. Big room and clean. | 7/10 |
4th February 2010 Henrik Bilbo | very nice hotel , clean and nice big room - good breakfast , we will come again :) | 9.4/10 |
25th January 2010 Mr Brian Robert Middleton | Hotel is in a great location, Room bit on the small side and bathroom could do with a bit of a spruce up and i,m not a fan of adjoining doors. Good reception staff. I like Thai breakfast, not a huge choice but what ther was i enjoyed.
There is a bar next to hotel which is part of complex, very expensive for evening drinks. | 6.6/10 |
15th August 2009 Mark Stephen Remenyi | The best hotel in Ranong. Reasonable value for money. Good facilities and great pool. Would recommend it to anyone going to Ranong... | 7.8/10 |
21st May 2009 Chantima Sirodom | The accommodation and services were good both times we stayed there. The best part was the hot mineral water in the bathrooms and the charming heated pool separated into 4 sections, that provided both privacy and social at the same time. Relaxing!
11th April 2009 Erik | Nice hotel with good facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff. Ranong may not be the most exiting destination, but it has some attractions like a big market and the hot springs. Surrounding area of Ranong is absolutely beautiful.
4th February 2009 Susan Margaret Kay | Very pleasant stay at the airy and welcoming Tinidee Hotel in the little town of Ranong. Room was clean and comfortable and had tea and coffee facilities. TV didn t have many English language programmes but restaurant was fine with good choice on the menu at dinner and breakfast.
1st February 2009 Richard.S.Walker | Excellent value hotel in scruffy district of Ranong . Very good food . Pleasant pool . Friendly and polite staff. Can get busy as on coachroute
itinerary. Evening entertainment . Would stay there again.
14th January 2009 David Jesse | Ein wunderbares Preisleistungsverhältnis! Saubere, große, ruhige Zimmer mit schöner Aussicht! Sehr freundliches Personal und guter Service. Begrüßungsdrink beim Empfang, kostenloser Abholservice vom Ranong Airport. Sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel.
9th January 2009 Terry Rickard | This is a good hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff. Karaoke in lounge at nite well sung by beautiful ladies but the songs are very mournful and will send you to bed crying into your cocktail.
The town of Ranong has little to offer the tourist other than as a launching point for the nearby islands. Did boat trip to Koh Payam and it was a very relaxing day. Extremely difficult to find departure pier in Ranong.
Ranong has a vast market, but has liitle for the tourist. Mostly fruit and veg, meats and fish and household goods. Most stalls run by Myanmar immigrants. Spotted some rats darting in and out of drainage system.
In summary, hotel is fine, but Ranong has little going for it other than islands.
28th December 2008 Laura | The staff in the hotel were superb. The reception staff patiently answered all our detailed questions, finding out more information for us where necessary and even laying on a free taxi to help us get to various booking offices for our onward journey. Restaurant staff were extremely attentive and in general all the staff were friendly and courteous - a credit to the hotel. The hotel itself was extremely good value. The pool area was good too - all in all the perfect choice for our 2 nights in Ranong.
31st October 2008 Prof.Hans Pizka | Was nice already six years ago, but has been much improved since the management has changed. Very friendly & helpful staff. English communication work better than most other places. WiFi available at 200 THB/150 mins. Two markets nearby within 6 mins walk. Restaurant excellent with moderate prices. Quiet place for super relax. Rich equipped gymn. 4 hot pools with natural mineral water up to 44 degrees C. 10m x 30m large pool. High value for low price. Extra positiv: no night life nearby. Will come again, certainly.
17th October 2008 William Lawrence | My second stay this year (May - then The Royal Princess ). Not many superficial changes except the nice and bright staff uniforms. Rooms still good size, clean, airy and comfortable. One down side is that there is only 1 English language TV news channel...FOX...enough said !! Breakfast buffet standard Thai with minimal western choices. Pool area ans mineral spa area nice relaxing area except for later in the afternoon when many local kids come in for swim practice. Expensive version of CYBERPOINT internet available. A relaxing 20 min walk to town main street and local restaurants/bars.Happy to stay again.
5th February 2008 Henk van Dijk | We came by car and had no real problem finding the hotel, especially because we recognized the building from afar and there were signs directing us to the hotel. The splendid building is situated in an old and abandoned living complex, which makes it uneasy to take an after-dinner walk. In February there is not much to do in the hotel, no BBQ, lunch or dinner buffets. It looks like this hotel is used for one night stays. The hotel has a very fine swimming pool and hot spring baths, there is a fitness center and inexpensive massage facilities. Evenings were spent at the karaoke lounge where a fixed group of girls would sing a number of songs. Service at the hotel is okay, the room is fine although the bathroom has a poor and old appearance. Also toilet paper was not replenished on time. Dinner could be better, most of the time the ordered meals were not delivered simultaneously and at one time I already finished my meal at the time when my wife got hers. Given the price we pay for the room I would have expected better. Still I would recommend this hotel for people coming to the Ranong area as there is little much else to choose from.
1st February 2008 Mr K Shimmin | Good hotel, quiet and relaxing
7th August 2007 David Stevenson | Lovely western style hotel, with thai friendliness. Fabulous hot pools in the hotel complex. Good buffet breakfast. Would definitely recommend.
