11th March 2012 Lawrence Loh | For the competitive price I paid for the room, there is nothing to complain about. The hotel is centrally located and within 15 minutes walk to shopping centers and eateries of Lee Gardens and Central.
The counter service is prompt and polite and the staff was conversant in English which made my life checking in easier than I expected.
The room is neat and clean. The bed sheets and pillows were clean which beacon a good night s rest.
The shower pressure is great as was the good temperature control.
Breakfast was adequately good.
I will surely return soon.

3rd March 2012 Carmen Ng | The hotel was great situated, convenient to all shopping area.
The room is clean and the bed is very comfy. The staff are friendly and yet helpful if you wish to ask for direction and opinion. I love the wifi provided, only 20baht per stay, really conveninence for those from overseas and using smart phone. | 8.4/10 |
2nd November 2011 James Enright | Two bottles of drinking water in glass bottles are provided per day, but when we requested to purchase additional drinking water in glass bottles staff told us they could only sell us drinking water in plastic bottles. For environmental reasons, health and taste we prefer glass refillable bottles as the world is being buried under plastic bottles. Hotels need to realize they can please their customers, help the environment, and get green points by using only refillable glass drinking water bottles! VL failed. | 6.8/10 |
2nd November 2011 James Enright | WiFi internet in our room on the 9th floor didn t work.
Room smelled badly of cigarette smoke on arrival and they gladly changed rooms for us.
22nd October 2011 Chew Kim Beng | Room service can improve - had twice asked for an extra cake of bath soap at the reception desk but request was not entertained. | 5.6/10 |
11th September 2011 Dollin Ting Ying Ying | we enjoy our stay in VL hatyai Hotel. Staffs are friendly & helpful. The room is clean & comfortable. Although the hotel is a bit out from the town, but still a walking distance to town area (7-8 minutes walk)
The hotel very near to market. You can shop every day & easily find restaurant nearby.
Will stay here again if we plan to visit second time. | 7/10 |
16th May 2011 Malaysian Traveller | Thank you for such a good service. From our arrival until we check out, we really satisfied with the service. | 8.4/10 |
16th May 2011 N B | I was fortunate to be able to book VL Hotel via hatyaihotel.blogspot as many other websites indicated the hotel as fully booked. Upon arriving, we noticed the hotel was situation at a huge cross junction which made navigating easier. The hotel is about 6-8mins walk to the main town center (Novotel, Lee Gardens). The room we got was room 501, a corner room right next to the exit staircase. The room was spacious, clean and neat. The bed had NO bedbugs and was super comfy!
The tv showed mostly thai shows but there were english channels such as HBO too. The toilet had a bathtub and a super strong shower head. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a washing pipe just beside the toilet :). On the second morning, we wanted the room cleaned so we hung the please clean room sign. As a test of integrity, I had placed a 100bhat (S$4) note on the dresser. We were happy to see that, upon returning, the money was intact, the room was cleaned and the soiled linen changed. Very well done! The only thing we were not too pleased with was the breakfast. Not much of a variety (fried rice, noodles, chicken porridge, boiled sausages). They barely topped up the coffee pot and the only juice they had was orange. You may want to make alternative breakfast plans or buy some juice/milk the night before.
I was happy with the service of the bellboy, who had helped us call for 2 masseuse to our rooms as there werent any massage shops near the hotel. We enjoyed the oil massages tremendously. Overall, I am pleased with the hotel and have no qualms about going back. | 7.6/10 |
9th May 2011 Gan Swe Kiyau | the room is ok and clean, but the choices for buffet breakfast is limited and everyday the same. | 7.2/10 |
9th March 2011 Andre Gibeault | Very good hotel near the center. Staff very competent and courteous. | 6.6/10 |
18th February 2010 Tan Cheng Sim | We feel that the front receptionist are not friendly at all and is time for them to change to a younger generation which is more courteous.
The breakfast provided is not satisfactory and tasteless. | 3.8/10 |
16th February 2010 Samah Baba | The air cond was not cold enough. Will not recommend to members. Overall not good compare with other hotels in Hat Yai.... | 5.2/10 |
16th February 2010 Choo Kum Meng | good place for a short stay, price is reasonable except for festive season | 8/10 |
16th February 2010 Yang Meng Siong | Staffs are friendly | 7/10 |
28th December 2009 Admira Murni | I really recommend this hotel for those who wants to stay just for short visit in Hat Yai and for those who like shopping. Kim Young market and night market in front of the hotel and we just walk to other shopping places. For visiting tourist places, tuk tuk is ready near the hotel or we can hire taxi with reasonable price. | 9/10 |
29th November 2009 TAN KENG JOO | I feel quite ok and cheap + reasonable suitable for those who are on budget travel. the location is strategic because it is in the middle of town and outside town. it is tranquil and less noice compared stying at town and travel to watch show at night also nearby. overall satisfy and hotel staff also pleasant and helpful. | 6.2/10 |
29th November 2009 Ling Hwee Ping | The location is good, the room is clean and we especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet. But we didn t find the staff over the counter very helpful when we asked for advice on where to dine and visit. | 8/10 |
1st February 2009 Welfred Suto (Malaysia) | The receptionist was so nice that she offer me to check-in early (7am) for shower before they clean-up the room by 9am. The room was excellent with 2 sitting chairs, wardrobe, mini fridge & free indoor wifi, bathroom is cleaned and got good english tv channel:)
28th July 2008 Ted from Malaysia | Checkin was easy and fast. Just hand over the booking voucher and passport and the receptionst filled up the forms for me and passed the room keys almost immediately. I would say it was a good service and bell boy helped us with our luggages and we even asked a few question and he answer politely. Furthermore we ask for a direction and maps straightaway the bell boy went down and brought up a map and show us how to go about in Hatyai. Thats pretty impressive response! Will definitely recommend traveller to stay at the hotel. Rooms was almost fully renovated and clean but left a bit of smells but that should be no problem after a few sprays of air refresher.
