Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas,

1923 as the Railway Hotel and now offers 207 luxurious rooms,

RESTAURANTS & BAR
Railway Restaurant (located near Main Lobby)
The Railway Restaurant is an elegant and historic venue set in the
heart of the colonial resort. This international restaurant serves a
variety of Thai and Western cuisine, classically prepared by Chef Somai
Yuenyung. Signature dishes include "Khao Pad Rot Fai," or Railway Fried
Rice, as well as a wide selection of pasta and sandwiches. The Railway
Restaurant also serves a breakfast buffet, including both Asian and
Western cuisine. During the week, the Railway features French, Italian
and Eastern-Oriental buffets, as well as a "Mini-Buffet."
The Palm Pavilion, located both just next to the Gulf of Siam and
within the classic colonial pavilion, is the ultimate in luxury. Fusion
gastronomic cuisine is the specialty here, and Chef Veerasak Jariyatassakorn
lovingly prepares each dish. The Palm Pavilion's specialties include
Tropical Fruit and Lobster Salad, Grilled Shitake Mushroom Cappuccino
with Chili Dust and Wok Flavored Rock Lobster on an Asparagus bed. The
restaurant also features two delicious Thai and Seafood buffets.
The Palm Terrace features the most spectacular views of the entire
grandiose resort and the lovely Gulf of Siam. Each table is located
within a stone's throw of the sea. The restaurant serves lunch and snacks
to outdoor diners relaxing at the pool or by the beach. Some signature
dishes include the Indonesian Nasi Goreng, Andulusian Gazpacho Soup,
excellent Baked Lasagna and Prawn, and Mango Salad. A grand sala overlooking
the Gulf of Siam also highlights the Palm Terrace.
The Salathai Restaurant, which features authentic Thai cuisine, boasts
a central and quaint location within the classic bungalows area. Each
dish incorporates local flavors, specifically designed to introduce
Westerners to the delights of Thai food. Specialties include Yam Pol
La Mai Ruam, or Thai Mixed Fruit Salad. The Salathai Restaurant also
features a weekly Thai Night Market buffet, as well as Thai Cooking
Classes.

The Museum
Located in the original hotel lobby, The Museum Coffee & Tea Corner
highlights the classic atmosphere of the bygone era that characterizes
the hotel. Each pastry, carefully prepared by Executive Pasty Chef Somsak
Larbprasit, deliciously intrigues any sweet tooth. Chef's specialties
include Lenotre finechocolate cakes, as well as traditional English
afternoon tea, which features a wide selection of scones, finger pastries
and crepes.
The Elephant Bar, located in the main lobby, is an ideal meeting
spot after a day at the beach, the pool or on the golf course. Serving
light snacks, beverages and alcoholic drinks, the Elephant Bar epitomizes
the classic atmosphere of the historic hotel. Featured drinks include
the Hotel's original cocktail "Heritage Fizz".
The Hagi Japanese Restaurant features daily performances of traditional
and modern Japanese cuisine. Located on one of Hua Hin's busiest street
corners, it affords nice views of the bustling Hua Hin nightlife. Japanese
Chef Wuttichai prepares sushi to perfection, and the sashimi is both
fresh and delectable. Signature dishes include the Beef Teppanyaki Live
Cooking Station and the town's favorite sukiyaki Japanese hot pot.

Great resort, good value for money. The hotel has many classical details, form ceilings to light switches, giving it a very special atmosphere. The breakfast buffet is stunning, the service as you may expect from a 5 star hotel. Only comment would be that they have a insect problem in the rooms.

When going to Hua Hin don t hesitate. This is the place to be. Beautiful rooms (although the teak wooden floors can be a bit noisy if you have heavy footed upstairs neighbours) but the twenties style of the place is astonishing.

Pure luxury. One of the best hotels we have stayed in for the price.Nothing too much trouble for staff. Rooms excellent great swimming pools and excellent food. Very good central location.

Extremely beautiful hotel, with excellent facilities and great rooms (we had the superior and they were spacious enough for a 3 p family). Three cons though; Hua Hin is a terrible place, the beach is not very inviting; and the staff is cold and distant compared with other hotels we have stayed in in Thailand.

A beatuful, large hotel on the beach located right at the center of the town.
We were upgraded for a jounior suite room upon arrival for booking a superior room which was a pleasant surprise. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and a large percentage of them can understand basic English for communication needs.
We enjoyed walking in town for dining and shopping which we could find everything in about 20-min walking radious.
