Carlos | The Chill is the best Hotel in Koh Chang. Period. Aiyapura and AAna resort are inside a canal. I ve stayed at Changburi and Koh Chang Paradise. What many resorts don t have that this one does is the private pool access room. Here they call it The Splash Room. This is what I booked. I am not sure that any Hotel in Koh Chang has a room such as this one for this price. Also, this hotel is in front of the beach. For those reviews that tell you this beach is rocky and not good for swimming, they are partly right. Yes, there are many rocks and corals. If that bothers you all you have to do is walk to the right for about 30 seconds and you will be right in the middle of the main beach. So, still the location IS perfect. Not only that but there is a great restaurant next to the Hotel and lots of shopping. The same stuff they sell you at white sands for 250 baht, next to The Chill you can get it for 180 baht without having to bargain. Service is great. Everyone speaks English at the hotel. The rooms are new and the 32 LCD TV is great with HBO and Star Movies.
Basically, this Hotel is like no other Hotel
in Koh Chang because of the design, the
Splash Room and the perfect location.
You literally can stay here and never
go more than a few feet away from the Hotel. The restaurant gives you a 20% discount if you are staying at the Hotel. The price in the menu are the prices for everyone. Guests get a discount, so, at night make sure you order room service and get the cocunut with ice cocunut
cream inside. Also, they give you a complimentary fruit basket. When you are at the main pool or go to the beach, the staff brings you a bottle of water for everyone. Complimentary of course, no charge. They watch your every move and service you anytime you want. I stayed 5 days, and you really get a vacation out of it. After 5 days you feel like you ve had all the vacation you needed. As far as I am concerned, this is the only Hotel in Koh Chang. Look no further. | 10/10 |

Anja Merete Støvring | We believe this is the best hotel a Koh Chang.
But the service at the resturant is pure. If you order frendfrice the don t have it and the breakfast is not the best you can get.
You need to wait long time if you want some of the menu. Many times the plate is empty and you need to ask for it before the people fill up again.
The location is great and very good service at the front disk.

Josefin Nordvall | Me and my family stayed in the Ocean Villa which has the absolutely best location of the chill villas. Beautiful wiew towards the sea. The beach is just a few steps away. Your own private pool, it can´t get any better than this!! Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. Very quiet place. Very chill . Not a lot of people by the pool or at the beach, we were almost alone. At low tide there was a lot of rocks in the sea, so it´s hard to swim, but snorkling was ok. We didt eat at the hotel, because the prices are much higher than the restaurants near by. But in all, a great place! | 9/10 |

Ove Buvarp | We stay 10 nights in a Sky Room. The room was very nice, big living room, big bedroom and very big bath and garderobe. Very cleen. Good aircondition. Very nice veranda with view over the pool and the sea. The hotel is not very big, more like a botique hotel. We feelt relaxed from the beginning. Staff very helpful and nice. Small but nice beach. Good location. Not too far to the south of the island and not too far to bigger beaches like White Sand Beach. Pic-up-cars all the time on the road, just jump on and off. Good seafood restaurnat nearby, name: Friends. In Fisherman Village several seafood-restaurants, we like seabird best. On White Sand Beach also a good seafood restaurant, name Nang Bua. More well known seafood restaurant is Iyara. More expencive, but the bbq tigerprawns is fantastic. Not forget to bring protection for mosqitos, Iyara located near a laguna. We will sure be back. We did not try the restaurant at the hotel, I think 3 times more expensiv than locals. | 10/10 |

Jean-Claude Giovanola | A la place de me gargariser sur le ptit déjeuner qui est pas mal meuh bon faut croire qu il y en a qui n ont jamais été dans des 4 étoiles...
Sinon les chambres sont biens et grandes, le gros plus est la piscine, environ 100mètre de long mais divisée en 4, magnifique, le moins comme un peu partout sur l île est la mer avec une forte marrée ou plutôt un fond trop plat et des cailloux/rochers dès les premiers 20m, hôtel à conseiller en tout cas. | |

Adrian Apperley | Great Hotel, new, clean and excellent spacious rooms. Pool fantastic but a sparse number of sun loungers to accomodate. Down side is the cost of food and drinks - absolutely ridiculous - 10 sterling for two pineapple juices !! Refrain from eating or drinking on site -the hotel really need to re think this as theres no atmosphere due to everyone leaving to eat outside the premisis - real shame as this spoils everything. Staff excellent. | |

Graeme Middleton | Very nice resort. Stayed in a CHILL ROOM. This was very comfortable. The pool area is nice. I could not fault the resort in any way except for the prices in the pool side restaurant. Very expesive even the Beer. (3 Times the price outside the hotel then plus taxes and service charges).Hence we ate and drank out all the time. The Beach is okay, a little rocky but with a pool like at the Chill, Who Cares. But certianley would stay here again. | |

Klaus | A very stylish and comfortable hotel , very nice and clean rooms with free Internet access , big tv screen ,very comfortable bed and balcony with day bed.The place is very quiet , although there are bars and restaurants in near walking distance.
Big swimmingpool area and small beach both with beachbeds.
We enjoyed staying there ....
Just a few things :
Breakfast was ok , but I had better in cheaper hotels , The chill was the only Thai hotel in which I had to pay the breakfast for my 3 year old son...( 225 bht / day )
I did not like the bathroom door , you can see through and I like my privacy ...
The beach is not very nice , there are lots of stones in the water , not suitable for small children , so most time we used the very nice pool. | |

Andrew Challenor | Modern Finishes, Clean Lines, Perfect Service and The Best Pool at Kai Bae.
The Resort is perfectly located in the middle of the busy Kai Bae Beach Strip, with 5 minute walking access to anything you wish to do. Once inside the Resort the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed with no indication that you are anywhere but in a high quality resort facility.
We stayed in the Ocean Villa, right on the beachfront with spectacular views of the surrounding islands and the daily sunset. This is the best room in the resort, most likely the best room on Kai Bae Beach and one of the best beachfront rooms on Koh Chang. If you are staying in the Villas at The Chill make sure you request this room. The room itself was immaculately presented with all the amenities you would expect; room safe, 3 showers, 2 bathrooms, split system air con, state of the art TV/Movie/Music/Internet facility, plunge pool, direct access to the amazing resort infinity pool, 24 hr room service etc etc.
The other rooms seem to also be well appointed, however due to the resort layout, without the spectacular views. However, the restaurant/bar/poolside areas are well placed to relax and enjoy the views.
The resort staff are all very professional with the main Reception, Bar and Restaurant staff speaking excellent English. The Day Spa is of the best possible standard, and although being more expensive than the “street vendors” the quality experience was worth every BHT.
The daily breakfast was good and included Thai versions of a Western Breakfast. The eggs were excellent, but it would seem that they think westerners all eat pork for bfast … pork sausage, ham, bacon, and even fried rice with pork! The coffee was OK, the butter and jams were terrible. Also lots of fresh fruit, cereal, juice, pastries etc.
We didn’t try the lunch or dinner menu as the prices were expensive (double+) what was available on the street, without the variety. In fact, during our stay we didn’t see any of the guests using the restaurant for other than breakfast.
The bad. Not much really. There were some “fit and finish” issues that you would expect from a just finished resort. The gardens/landscaping are yet to be fully established and the bamboo perimeter fences need to grow before the vacant land on either side of the resort are hidden from view. The room we stayed in had plenty of cupboard space, but no draws for clothing. There weren’t enough hooks to hang towels and swimmers to dry. The plunge pool and courtyard area of the Villas will definitely benefit from the garden growth to create a screen for more privacy. All these issues are minor and in no way detracted from a wonderful experience.

Still at pre-opening stage, so some service issues to iron out, and food prices seem expensive given the varied choice on the street out front. Highly recommended if you re looking for a stylish relaxing, quiet place not too far off the beaten track. | |
