2 Juin 2011 Susan Jane Le Roux | This was our fourth stay. Peaceful and quiet. Owners and staff very friendly. My daughter fell in love with the few cats there and she was very sad to leave. Owners assisted us with some legal documentation that needed to be scanned and printed which were were very grateful for. Will be staying again. If you want to just relax and have no hussle and bussle. This will be a good place to unwind. The pool is the best ever. Thank you to all staff and owners. | 5.25/10 |
13 Avril 2011 Traveller | We came just for one night.
The hotel was nice and comfortable. However, we have never seen such a bad service. The staff was neither friendly nor helpful. They did not help with the luggages, they did not explain anything about hotel (diner, breakfast time...), no information about taxi (we needed a taxi for the next morning early time, to reach the pier in Maenam)... We have never seen such a surprising way of welcoming customers!
So, when we arrived to the dining room (10 minutes after our arrival at the hotel) everything was closed... We tried to call but nobody answered...Fortunately, we met someone outside who arranged transportation for the next morning! But, we did not have any diner and no breakfast the next morning... It is very very strange as Thai service is well-known to be very good! We live in Thailand and it is the first time something like that happened to us...
It s a pity as the hotel is good, comfortable and in a peaceful area (not far from the fisherman s village in BoPuht, less than 10 min walk) with a very nice swimming pool... | 5.8/10 |
30 Avril 2010 Scott Robinson | Our second time back, most beautiful hotel in all of Thailand. Rooms are modern and comfortable. Best feature of the hotel is the pool. Would definitely stay here again. | 8/10 |
29 Mars 2010 DALFOSSO | excellent we will come back | 10/10 |
11 Janvier 2010 Marsha Thomason | The restaurant was not good | 5.6/10 |
7 Janvier 2010 James R I Lumsden | Fantastic accomodation in bungalow number 1. Right beside the pool and very spacious. Very disappointed with the breakfast. | 7.2/10 |
2 Janvier 2010 Jackson | A beautiful retreat...the photos on the website dont even do it justice. One of the most beautiful pools ever! We loved every minute of our stay, would go back in a heartbeat! | 9.4/10 |
23 Decembre 2009 Susan Jane Le Roux | Third stay. My request for a bungalow without much stairs was given. Food is really good and reasonable. Staff are friendly and helpful. If you do not like creepy crawlies then this is not the place for you, had an incident at the pool with a snake, but this did not put us off. The peace and tranquility made up for everything. Bathrooms in bungaows really need to be upgraded. Beds are comfortable. Will stay again | 6/10 |
28 Novembre 2009 Robyn GREGORY | Although basic in accommodation it offered a wonderful escape from the hustle of main stream. The staff were lovely and very helpful.Lamoot the terrier a real charmer. Can highly recommend for rest, peace & quiet despite the very firm bed. Recommend hire a car from airport and life will be very easy. | 7.4/10 |
8 Octobre 2009 Jing Chen | I do like the room with nature design, especially the Japanese style bed zone. However, the room was not so clean as what I expected and I could find the insects and ants on the floor and spider web at the corner. The location is truely not convenient at all. We need to take 10min walk to mainroad and another 10min to bophut beach. The beach is less beautiful than Chaweng. More, the taxi fare is very expensive in Samui(it take 300bhts to Chaweng beach one way). Thus, I won t recommend this hotel unless you d like to stay in a quiet place without any beach life. | 4.8/10 |
18 Septembre 2009 Micaela Bascand | I was utterly disappointed to find out that the Spa part of this resort was closed. This was the sole reason I had booked it and only found out when I wanted to book a massage. The food was excellent and the service was good, but the accommodation was basic and the concrete floors / bathroom made it feel dirty. | 4.4/10 |
23 Aout 2009 Carlos penas | The Sunday s was beautiful. The pool, the garden, the rooms great. The service very good and the kitchen the best. Also the transfer to the airport.
20 Aout 2009 luca savoia | not so clean but quiet clean. great swimming pool. not big breakfast . quiet far from the centre but maybe it s an advantage | 5.8/10 |
8 Juillet 2009 Alfie Giles | staff were lovely but didnt really like the hotel, room was only ok,dark, bathroom outside , loads of insects there ,
5 Juillet 2009 Ian Patrick Jones | Excellent small hotel with attentive service and a wonderful Jack Russell named Lamut. She was a super replacement for our dogs that we had to leave at home whilst we were away.
Nice, clean and good sized room just by the pool. Great place for relaxing although probably not so good for kids as there is little in the way of children s entertainment.
A bit off the beaten track as it is a 15 minute walk to Fisherman s Village or a 200 baht taxi ride.
Overall though, we loved it and will go again if we can.
2 Juin 2009 BATYUNYA DMITRY | We have been staying at this hotel for 7 days. This wonderful place was absolutely close to our whishes. This hotel seems to be very cosy, comfortable and friendly. We felt ourselves like on a beautifull island, a peace of wide nature. Instead of it there was a good spa service. We whish good luck and success to the staff and all hotel team. And we want to say you big russian thanks - SPASIBO!!!
8 Mai 2009 PAUL ANTHONY LEWIN | We absolutely loved Sundays Sanctuary. It definitely lived up to it s name it is a complete sanctuary away from the maddness of many other places on Samui. We had a great 4 night stay and wished it could have been longer. It was the end of our 3 week honeymoon and our room was lovely. Very modern, clean, minimalist asian style with extremely comfy big bed but also very rustic with thatched roofs, lush gardens and balcony view of the pool. It was so chill there and the staff are lovely & funny. The restaurant food & bar was outstanding and cheap with generous servings. Great traditional Thai dishes. Even though we were just around the corner from all the restaurants of Fishermans Village we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the resort. Great pool. Just a very friendly and laid back place where you can do what you want. It is definitely for those wanting to get away from it all. It s a little off the main road but we hired a bike from the resort and got our own way around which made it much cheaper than getting cabs. Free internet too. Check it out - we will definitely be back.
8 Mai 2009 PAUL LEWIN | This place was great, it was our final stay before we returned back to Melbourne and it truely was a sanctuary. We stayed 4 nights and were one of about 4 couples in the whole resort. While the room was basic, it was very clean and the people that ran the resort were very nice and accomodating. We ate at the restuarant every night as the food was some of the best we had in Thailand and was very reasonably priced. The swimming pool was large and quite private as there was a wall of trees between it and the restaurant.
It is situated in Bo Phut, so probably a 15-20 minute motorbike ride to Chaweng Beach - and Bo Phut beach itself is not somewhere you would go to, to swim and lay about.
If you are looking for a really quiet nice place to relax and chill out I would highly recomend Sunday s Sanctuary Resort - oh and Mammut the dog is incredibly cute as well.
3 Avril 2009 Emil Zesiger | What an beautiful place! We really enjoyed our stay at Sundays Sanctuary Resort, which is surrounded by tropical gardens. There were some constuction works next to the resort, but it didn t bother your stay. The garden bungalows are spacious and clean and the staff very helpful and kind. We can defenitely recommend this place.
4 Mars 2009 Laura Gilyeat & Glynis Jones | Hotel very good value for money, although a good 10 minute drive from the busy night life of Chaweng. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Rooms spotless.
