visit to Koyao Island Resort is not only about ordinary
luxury such as exclusive spa facilities, fine dining and a
gorgeous pool. Much more, it is about the true privilege of
really being at peace - in the midst of the most fruitful,
pristine and welcoming nature on earth.
Koyao Island Resort is
located in the famous archipelago of Phang Nga Bay near
Phuket in southern Thailand.
Remote but still
accessible, we are surrounded by secluded beaches, rain
forests and uninhabited islands in a place where mass
tourism is far away and the original Thai hospitality has
free reign.
Our 15 luxury villas, designed in
traditional Thai architectural style, blend graciously into
a coconut palm setting. Each villa faces the beach, has its
own private garden and is equipped with every modern
comfort.
ACCOMMODATION
Our 15 villas are built in the original Andaman Sea - gypsy style which is optimal for comfort and for the environment. We have used unique local resources with a traditional background while still maintaining,
if not surpassing, all modern standards.
The mangrove palm leaf roofs of our villas breathe and do not store heat, and air conditioners are definitely not needed. Rain water is collected in reservoirs and cleaned naturally for drinking and bathing.
All villas have and undisturbed, spectacular, sea view of the famous Phang Nga Bay and can be opened up to the stars at night - and in the morning the rising sun shines onto the beds.
Superior Room

This hotel room is perfectly designed for couples.
There are 3 superior rooms, each has a total floor space of around 60 square meters. Each room enjoys a spacious and comfortably furnished bedroom. They open up to the garden and the sea, or to your outdoor private space.
Each hotel room includes: Private indoor bathroom, Telephone line, Refrigerator, Coffee and tea dispenser, Mini bar and electronic safe, TV and DVD's are available on request.
Deluxe Villa
Seaview, garden beach front, double bed, living room, day bed, indoor and outdoor shower, 65 m2
Maximum occupancy: 3 persons (third person subject to additional changed)
We have eleven Deluxe Villas especially designed for couples but
with the option to accommodate three guests. With a total
floor space of 65-85 square meters the secluded Deluxe villas all
have a spacious and comfortably furnished living room and a separate
bedroom which opens up to the garden and the sea.
Each villa
also has both a private indoor- and outdoor garden bathroom. The villas have a telephone/fax line as well as a refrigerator,
coffee and tea dispenser, a mini bar and an electronic safe. TV and
DVDs are available on request.
Deluxe Villa Suite

In a slightly more modern designed these oversized two bedrooms 200 Sq.m Units offer air conditioning and flat screen TV's as well as kitchenette. They offer the largest living space at beautiful beach
and seaview to enjoy the stunning views over the Andaman Sea and Koh Hong archipelago.

Private Beach Lodge
Private safari tented lodge, with private beach, open air bedroom and outdoor shower.

The design is based of a high-end luxury Safari-Tented Lodge, set up with luxury, local made furniture of sustainable products and provides some of the best views you'll have ever seen.
This single tented lodge is situated on 7 acres of land and gives access to 200 meters of private beach.

Koh Yao Spa
During your stay we invite you to the world of total
peace and tranquility in the Koyao Island Resort Spa. Our in-house
facility provides you with all the therapies to relax your mind,
body and spirit. An hour or so in our spa will have you walking on
air and feeling years younger.
Treat yourself to hours of
sensuous extravagance with our qualified and sensitive staff. The
indoor and outdoor treatment beds are comfortably placed so that
some of the islands best views can be enjoyed while you relax and
let yourself be pampered.
Choose an outdoor bed and hear the
sound of waves lapping to shore while you lay in the natural breeze
or an air-conditioned room with your own private shower and dressing
facilities. Your personal masseuse will see that every need is
attended to and explain the resort's wide range of all natural
products used during treatment.
Activity Snorkeling, Diving, Island hopping, Fishing, Water sports,
Kayaking, Bird-watching, Biking, Rock-climbing, Jungle tracking,
Boating, Island discovery.
It is almost certain that, during your stay here, you will want
to take a day trip to one or two of the surrounding islands. Koyao
Island Resort staff can arrange a perfect day out for you. Take a
look at some of the examples below - there is a larger excursion
book at reception.
A first start is to borrow one of the resort's mountain or
motorbikes and to explore the island. The roads are easy to navigate
and local people more than willing to help you should you get lost.
If you feel like a more leisurely day, hire a Tuk Tuk (taxi) and
driver guide and set of for a day of fun and adventure.
At the resort there are boats for those who enjoy canvassing the
sea. There are also canoes and fishing rods available. For day trips
it is normal to use a traditional Thai 'long tail' boat - so named
as its propeller is on the end of a long pole. On these excursions
you visit mangrove forests, coves and caves, crystal clear waters
and uninhabited islets. The islets and islands around Koh Yao Noi
are formed by millions of years of deposits and are now made up
essentially of limestone. Rock climbing is possible on the limestone
cliffs and their weird formations make for some stunning photography
at different times of the day.
For those who wish to travel further a field, outings can be
arranged to Koh Yao Yai, Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi or indeed the
popular Ao Nang - all trips take maximum one hour travel time.
Aside the scenic views that you will experience on day trips, one
of the most thrilling aspects is that you are highly likely to see
some of the regions most beautiful flora and fauna. We have monkeys,
giant lizards, sea eagles, hornbills, kingfishers. and of course the
charming local buffalos and goats. For fishermen, take your chances
with groupers, snappers, carangues and barracuda. Diving can be
arranged through local operators.

On your right
you can already feel the soothing sounds and fragrances coming from
our Spa, and straight ahead the relaxed library and its internet
corner is beckoning, unless you decide to bring the book a few steps
in the direction of the tropical drinks on display in the bar that
is.
Should you prefer your own adventures to those of the
library book heroes, the activity center can help you arrange a boat
trip to one of the many delightful neighboring islands or will pick
just the right motorbike or boat for your activity. Baby sitting is
available on request and there are books, DVDs and sports equipment
for older children.
If you still cant make up your mind,
maybe the German, Thai and Dutch management team can help you
speculate about other options, they are always open for suggestions,
and planning is half the fun.
For your convenience we also
provide transportation and to and from destinations such as Phuket
and Krabi. But please make sure you stay for one of our famed
starlight barbecues on one of the romantic sandbanks in the bay.

amazing resort, very quiet location, with a feeling to be in paradise. a couple of restaurants around and bike rental for cheap prices allow to visit the rest of the (small) island.

The island are very good for bicycling, the resort have them for free, just book one go for it. We was eaten dinner in the resorts restaurant, first evening with good taste and fair service, the second evening poor taste and very bad service! The other two nights we visit local restaurant outside the resort with very good taste on the food, a bar in the trees.

I loved the place and everything about resort especially staff. We stayed in Deluxe Villa which has amazing view. Only con thing about the place is the beach. It is not great for swimming.

Utrolig flott sted.Stille og fredelig.Å våkne opp å kun høre bølgene slå mot stranden var fantastisk.Nydelige villaer.Spesielt badet som var rene oasen.Kommer gjerne igjen.

We enjoyed our stay in the Koyao Island Resort: friendly helpful staff, lovely room. Good food in the restaurant.

Big positives and big neagtives to this place! Positives: Spectacular location, really wonderful and helpful staff, good food, pool a great place to meet fellow travellers. Negatives: MOSQUITOES. So many in your room and bathroom and when you open a bag, dozens fly out. You have 3 mozzie coils/poison mats in your villa, 1 in bathroom and 2 on patio to try and keep them at bay.
There is an independent bar behind the villas that kept us awake until 12 and 230am. Resort cannot do anything but call the police. Drinks are expensive (food reasonable 200 baht +).
Some villas badly designed and uninspiring,like ours 103, no windows or view of any kind. Once you enter the villa you look onto walls, doors and roof. Light filters in from the gap bewteen the roof and walls. Other villas have shutters that open out to seaview- MUCH BETTER.
We loved the staff but would not return.
